About WLM
WLM designs and manufacturers some of the finest sounding and crafted home audio loudspeakers in the world. Founded in 2002, their design and manufacturing sites are located in Austria where all WLM products are conceived and produced with a particular emphasis on quality of the components employed, the manufacturing process itself and thus the finished product.
The WLM Philosophy
The WLM transducers and cabinet design should be viewed in a similar fashion to musical instruments - grown in the long Austrian tradition of music. The convincing WLM concept is based on fine Austrian engineering, experience with traditional and natural materials, and solid, consistent methods of cabinet design and building. Components and materials are hand-selected from proven suppliers and are implemented without compromises for the purpose of the most authentic sound reproduction.
In the design of all its products, WLM seeks simple and timeless shapes that are easily integrated in just any habitat - clearly avoiding short-lived, "trendy” design decisions. The choice of timber and surface finishes is quite extensive. The high sensitivity of WLM speakers make them all the ideal partners for a wide range of both tube and solid-stage amplifiers of low to high power output.
WLM offers multiple means to overcome the adverse effects of room acoustics, thus offering a sublime listening experience in a variety of rooms and with a many types of amplifiers and all genres of music. The quality of the cabinet manufacturing is based on the long Austrian tradition of wood processing. WLM products are proof of this drive for quality down to the finest details, and a valid investment for long-lasting musical pleasure. Hannes Frick - Design, Manufacturing, and Marketing:
Mr. Frick is a passionate music lover who is successfully running of well-known and high-end studio in West Austria named Fricco Referenze Audio. He is responsible for design, manufacturing and world-wide marketing and distribution of the entire WLM product range.
Martin Schützenauer - Design Engineer:
Mr. Schützenauer’s love of music brought him from communication technology and top sport activities to loudspeakers and commensurate electronics. Six times member of the Austrian Olympic Team and silver medal World Champion, he is still seeking the challenge of top performance - now in the building of the finest quality loudspeakers.
Thomas Gröfler - Manufacturing:
Mr. Gröfler is a fully accredited master craftsman who is responsible for the flawless manufacturing of the WLM cabinets. Each loudspeaker coming out of his shop is a masterpiece of its own - total quality throughout.
