Red Wine Audio Announces Battery-powered ‘CD Transport 1’

Innovative approach enables CD transport to “piggyback” off any Red Wine Audio component equipped with Isabellina DAC and optional DC output jack.

October 14, 2011 • Room #1009, Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, Denver, CO • Red Wine Audio, manufacturer of battery-powered purist hi-fi products, debuts cost-effective way to add reference-quality CD playback capabilities to existing Red Wine Audio hi-fi systems.

With CD playback waning, who wants to spend big bucks on a high-end player?

There was a time when audiophiles spent many, many thousands on CD players. But in today’s economy – and with computer-based audio on the rise –
“…people just don’t want to spend big on CD playback, even to support a large CD collection,” says Vinnie Rossi, President of Red Wine Audio.

Customers can enjoy reference sound quality, without the major investment

“Sound quality from the new transport feeding our Isabellina DAC-equipped products easily competes with much more expensive units. And as a $500 add-on (to appropriately configured Red Wine Audio components), CD Transport 1 is a terrific way for music lovers to make the most of their existing collections,” says Rossi. Adding, “Naturally, Isabellina supports other digital sources including computers, so one product covers all your 2ch digital needs.”

This sleek transport fits neatly on any Red Wine Audio component. And like all Red Wine components, CD Transport 1 is fed by pure LiFePO4 (LFP) battery power, supplied by DAC-equipped components like Red Wine Audio’s Isabellina, Isabellina HPA, Audeze Edition, or Isabella preamplifiers configured with optional DAC.

AC power has lots of grunge. So when it comes to hearing the purest most emotionally involving sound possible, nothing beats LFP battery power.
“…a CD transport is no exception. Our innovative approach is clean, pure and simple!,” exclaims Rossi.
