Black Lightning High-current Battery Power Supplies
AC Power Adaptors have their share of “worts…”
AC Power Adaptors convert AC power (alternating current) from the wall outlets in your home to DC power (direct current) needed to feed audio components. Most AC adapters are cheap switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) that degrade sound quality because they:
- Introduce high-frequency noise to the output voltage feeding your audio component – contributing to a bright, unnatural sounding treble and listener fatigue
- Radiate EMI (electromagnetic interference) that can be picked up by other components and interconnect cables – adding grunge to your music
- Push EMI back onto AC mains, which can pollute other audio components connected to your home’s AC power supply
- Limit output current, “choking” audio components during musical peaks, resulting in a collapsed soundstage, reduced dynamics and muddy bass
- Degrade tonal purity (e.g. vocals sound more shrill, strings and horns sound artificial)
- Detract from the emotional involvement you want to experience when listening to your music!
Does Black Lightning sound better than adding expensive power conditioners, fancy aftermarket power cords & dedicated power outlets?
Yes! Even extensive (and expensive!) power conditioning and after-market power cords do not measure up to Black Lightning, because no matter how clean the AC feeding your Power Adapters, the current output by Power Adapters will always be flawed by:
- Limited output current (“choking”)
- Internally created noise from the AC / DC conversion process
- Noise radiated onto other components
Benefits
With Black Lightning powering your audio components “DC-Direct,” you hear:
- More accurate tone
- Blacker backgrounds
- Improved dynamics
- Better defined bass
- A larger soundstage
- More holographic imaging
- Less listening fatigue
And best of all – you become more emotionally involved with your music, which is what Red Wine Audio is all about!
